Biography
Antonio Pagliaro
Antonio Pagliaro is a writer, astrophysicist, and data scientist. Senior Researcher at the Italian National Institute for Astrophysics (INAF-IASF Palermo), he works on the foundations of Artificial Intelligence — including Explainable AI (xAI) and computer vision — and on advanced applications in high-energy astrophysics and quantitative finance. Ph.D. in Physics, post-doc at the European Space Agency.
He started with Palermo's dark nights and its dead, and moved on to psychological thrillers and major criminal cases across Sicily and beyond. He publishes noir and true crime with Guanda, Sironi, Laurana, Zolfo, and independently.
His books have surpassed 12,000 readers, with over 3,000 reviews. Il bambino segreto hit #1 in the Amazon charts for psychological thrillers and Italian literature. La ragazza che scomparve in primavera was a finalist for the 2024 Amazon Storyteller Award.
He edits the "Zolfo Nero" true crime series for Zolfo editore.
He is currently working on a narrative essay on artificial intelligence and on a Sicilian noir.
